5 days until 3.0

Time has passed scarily quickly so far in 2010.  It hardly feels like 10 minutes ago that I wrote my first post whilst sat in my parent's living room during the Christmas break.  Today it's April 1st, which in turn means it's only 5 days until I thrust into a new world of being 30 years old.

I'm excited for my birthday weekend though and on the actual big day itself, i'll be celebrating with my family and close friends in Cardiff and the following weekend I have my Mad Men themed party - so lots to look forward to!

My big question though is - what does one chose as one's birthday pressie?  My family, boyfriend and friends are all clubbing together to get me something special, but i'm split 50/50 on what to chose....and I need some advice!  Do I go for the either this amazing Mulberry handbag or the always desired but never jumped for DSLR camera.  Decisions, decisions!  Do I go for style or substance!?

  1. hehe loving the camera! Definitely substance! I think you'll get so much more pleasure out of that than a bag, though that one is pretty cute. But I spoke my truth in my blog not long ago on the luxury of owning an SLR!

  2. I saw you post and I think if I go for the camera I will definitely take up 1 days course. Which camera did you go for? I'm torn between the Nikon D3000 or Canon EOS 450D...

  3. I'm in the handbag camp... the camera would be brilliant, useful and you'd have a lot of fun with it but I think milestone birthdays should be celebrated with something you can wear... Fab shoes, jewellery, watches, a handbag... I got a gorgeous and very special bag for my 18th... a long time ago!

  4. The camera, definitely the camera. You'd probably get equal pleasure out of both but think of the photos you can take with a decent camera? On the other hand the bag is awfully cute. Hmmn, still the camera I think! Good luck choosing.

  5. Scary indeed but empowering- everyone I know who is older says the 30s are the best years- and I would say the camera because that will give you presents all the time and because I am the same and always mean to get into photography more and it doesn't happen- maybe you will inspire me!
