Star Gazing

On Monday I was one lucky lady!  I took a lunch break... you have got to believe me, this minor detail is a point worth celebrating for me!  So what does one do, when you have a spare 30 mins?  That's right you guessed it... you pound the pavement to the shopping mecca that is Topshop at Oxford Circus!

Whilst lazing it up to the max on Sunday I spotted this little beauty on Topshop's website!  I love the level of detail on the images that Tommy Ton shares on his blog, and i'm sure you agree it's those little finishing touches that can make or break an outfit!  So without further ado, I headed straight to the jewellery area in topshop to hunt down the star cocktail ring!

Happy Happy Joy Joy they had plenty of stock and before you could say "diamonds are a girls best friend" I was stood in line ready to pay!  I wore it today and couldn't be more pleased with it!  I'm also really happy with the quality, I had always had this impression that the quality wasn't that great with Topshop jewellery, but it has a great weight and doesn't feel like it's only worth £12!  Style and quality all in one hit!

Time for a new watch

I bought my Stephen Webster Superstud ring back in June and I've worn it all summer!  The only problem is, I don't have a yellow gold watch then goes with it!


I'm been scouting the web on the search for one, and I just can't decide whether I want to go old school retro with the digi casio, grown up classic with the Marc Jacobs or add to the jewellery collection with the Roberto Cavalli.

High Street Dreams

Have you been watching the recent series on BBC1 called High Street Dreams.  The incredibly sucessful Jo Malone of frangrance company fame and Nick Leslau a hot shot property millionare have been helping various entrepreneurs develope their brand with the key aim being to launch their product onto the UK high street.  This week's episode was close to home, Claire English a budding jewellery designer and manufacturer wanted to take her designs to a wider audiance and who could be better to mentor Claire during her journey than my very own employer!  Stephen Webster has taken Claire under his wing and helped her to develop a stunning and exciting collection of jewellery that she was able to pitch to Selfridges.  I was lucky enough to meet Claire in office and she couldn't be nicer. I love her products and think she has really captured that whimsical creative look that is perfect for the jewellery market.  I look forward to one day owning one of her pieces!

The Royal Breakfast

How luxurious does this photoshoot look by hot UK photographer Miles Aldridge look?  It featured in the November 2009 issue of Vogue Gioiello.  Who wouldn't want to eat breakfast in bed with one's poodle and whilst decked out in jewels.   I love to believe that the Queen takes breakfast this way everyday!

The image is beautiful though and I love the emerald earrings and pendant, the colour of the emeralds just jump out at you against the beautiful porcelain skin of the model.

Everyones favourite little blue box

As I ran down Bond Street today for my usual lunch time dash to Pret A Manger for a take-out soup, I was struck with how beautiful the windows were in Tiffany.  I'm normally not a huge fan of Tiffany's windows, I often find them very cluttered and busy and coupled with the many other jewellers on the street, I don't think the jewellery jumps out at you the way it should.  However, today I was entranced by them, each window has a real etheral beauty about it.  I also love the sense of depth that each window has, it gives that extra touch of magic for their winter wonderland. It really reminds me of the Snow Queen or Cinderella and I guess what Tiffany are selling is the fairy tale beauty that owning piece of jewellery gives you, what more would a girl want for Christmas!?
